Not all supplements are created equal.
Medical-grade supplements are manufactured to pharmaceutical standards and tested for purity, potency, and bioavailability. At Meliora, every supplement we recommend has been selected by Dr. Chua based on years of patient outcomes — and is available in-office or shipped to your door.
The Framework
Twelve years of practice, distilled into The Meliora Method.™
Why supplement quality matters.
Most supplements sold in retail are not required to prove potency or purity before reaching shelves. Studies have found that a significant percentage of retail supplements contain less of the active ingredient than claimed — or contain contaminants.
Medical-grade supplements meet the manufacturing standards of pharmaceutical products. They are tested for dissolution (whether they actually release the active ingredient in your gut), potency (whether they contain what they claim), and contamination.
At Meliora, we select supplements based on clinical effectiveness in our patient population — not on branding or price. We recommend the minimum effective dose of the right product, not a lengthy protocol of marginal additions.
Clinical Protocol
Key supplements in our clinical protocol.
Vitamin D3 + K2
D3 for immune function, bone density, mood, and hormonal regulation. K2 (MK-7 form) directs calcium to bone rather than arterial tissue. Most patients need 2,000–5,000 IU depending on baseline levels.
Methylated B-Complex
B vitamins in their active, methylated forms — particularly important for patients with MTHFR variants who cannot convert folic acid. Supports energy, neurotransmitter synthesis, and methylation.
Magnesium Glycinate
The most absorbable and well-tolerated form of magnesium. Critical for sleep, stress response, insulin sensitivity, and muscle function. Most patients are deficient.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids (High Potency)
Pharmaceutical-grade fish oil with verified EPA/DHA content. Anti-inflammatory, supports cardiovascular health, brain function, and hormone production.
Iron Bisglycinate (Ferrochel)
For patients with low ferritin. The most gut-friendly and absorbable form of iron supplementation — with significantly less GI side effects than standard ferrous sulfate.
Pharmaceutical-Grade Probiotics
Clinically validated strains for gut microbiome support, estrogen metabolism, and immune regulation. Species and dose matter — we use what clinical evidence supports.
Who Benefits
Supplement guidance is for everyone — but personalization is what makes it effective.
Patients with identified deficiencies
Targeted supplementation to correct documented deficiencies in D, B12, and ferritin. The dose and form are chosen based on your lab values.
Patients on hormone or metabolic protocols
Hormone therapy works better when nutrient cofactors are in place. We design supplement regimens that support your treatment, not just your general wellness.
Patients who want to consolidate their protocol
Many patients come to us on a list of supplements from various sources. We review the list, eliminate redundancies, upgrade forms, and simplify.
Common questions.
Can I get supplements without being a Meliora patient?
Our supplement store is available to established patients. New patients begin with a consultation and lab work, which determines what you actually need.
How is this different from going to a health food store?
Professional-grade supplements meet manufacturing standards that retail products are not required to meet. We also select based on clinical outcomes, not marketing.
Will you tell me to throw away everything I'm already taking?
Not necessarily. We review what you're taking and why. Some of it may be appropriate; some may be redundant or suboptimal form. We simplify where possible.
Questions? Send us a message.
We respond within one business day.
Know what your body actually needs.
Supplement recommendations without lab work are guesswork. Book a consultation and let the data tell us what to address.
